The 2024 Yamaha YZ450F won our 2024 450 MX Bike Shootout with a comfortable margin of victory over the rest of the machines thanks to a unbeatable powerplant, class-leading suspension, great balance, and exceptional handling. Following the shootout, Donn Maeda personalized the machine with a list of aftermarket parts that he felt improved the already great platform even more! Before the 2024 model gets exchanged for the 2025 YZ450F, SML test rider Pat Foster spun some laps on the project bike to see how each modification benefited the machine.
