Whoever said two-strokes are dead? With the addition of races like the 125 All-Star Race, presented by Throttle Syndicate, at the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross stops; two-strokes seem to be just as popular, if not more popular, in present-day racing. Yes, the sports premier racers aren’t battling over wins aboard factory 125cc and 250cc two-strokes, as much as we’d love to watch that, but you can’t deny the amount of attention a two-stroke race such as the 125 All-Star races bring.

During the morning of round two of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series, we ran around Fox Raceway to capture photos of as many 125cc race weapons we could before they got caked in mud. From YZ125’s equipped with just an aftermarket pipe and silencer, to complete frame-off built CR125’s with carbon fiber gas tanks; round two of the 125 All-Star races seemed to bring out nearly every phase of a small-bore two-stroke dream build. Whether you favorite Ryan Villopoto’s Pro Circuit-tuned Yamaha YZ125 or Colton Haaker’s Rockstar Energy Husqvarna TC125, have a look through the gallery and let us know what bike excites you the most.

Hey swap, in response to your contest on IG. These guys put their bodies through the ringer like no other athletes. I’d like to see more in depth breakdown of these guys diets during race day, training week and off season. Maybe understand their supplements and what kinda of training they do besides laps. In understand some is private.
    Love the content.
    Cheers

    Love it.

You asked for suggestions. I’d love to see more interviews understanding how riders approach a racetrack. Like, the psychological approach to racing. Mx pros are a different breed; I’d like to hear more about how they tick.

I also loved the old mechanical how-to’s and hearing how pro mechanics keep their bikes in top form.

I’ll be working the race this weekend with AMMC; you can drop the helmet off at the rig! 🙂

Awesome pics. So good to see 2 strokes making a comeback. I would love to hear more interviews/stories from some of the legends of the sport like Rick Johnson, Jeremy McGrath, and their mechanics/behind the scenes guys. It would also be rad to hear more from some of the off road guys.

First I’d like to say love the content. I’d like to hear comparisons from some of the pros who have raced 2 strokes & 4 strokes. Always like to hear old stories too.
Also like seeing older 2 strokes brought back to life so maybe a build series.
