2024 Gas Gas ECC 6 eMTB | Trail Tested

 

We’ve seen Justin Barcia ripping around our local SoCal trails on a Gas Gas electric mountain bike for a couple of years now but to be honest, they weren’t the coolest bikes we’d ever seen.

For 2024, though, the brand has revamped its entire line of pedal-assist bicycles, and sitting at the top of its offerings is the ECC 6 enduro eMTB. At $9,999, the Gas Gas ECC 6 is more affordable than many top-of-the-line, similarly equipped offerings from other bike manufacturers. The ECC 6, however, is the first bike we’ve ridden with the SRAM Power Drive system which consists of a Brose motor and SRAM drivetrain that are linked together to offer new features like auto-shift and coast shift.

The suspension, too, is all new as a collaboration between WP and the well-established mountain bike suspension brand, DVO; produced the bicycle industry’s first Cone Valve-equipped suspension components. We recruited local ripper Andre Budillo to put the Gas Gas ECC 6 through its paces, and he came away completely impressed with the bike, even in comparison to his personal ride.
