Electric Sketch | Alex Ray on the Stark Varg

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past couple of years, you should be aware of the Stark Future Varg electric motocross bike. With a horsepower rating of 80 horsepower at its highest setting, the machine must be ridden to be appreciated. Naysayers will say that the relatively silent machines will be a detriment to the racing side of the sport, but the truth is that we love things that involve two wheels. Two-stroke, four-stroke, or electric; if it has handlebars and a throttle, we’re in! Last weekend, Stark Future invited the Swapmoto Live team to come out and throw our legs over the Varg, and of course, we brought recently retired racer Alex Ray with us. Known well for his wide open and – well – sketchy riding style, we were anxious to see what ARay thought of the clutch-free machine. At the end of the day, Alex loved the Varg, but the GoPro footage of his first few laps on the bike are so entertaining, that we had to share. And yes, his visor placement borders on first-time beginner and Chaparral catalog…
