Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha has announced that Jeremy Martin will return as part of the team’s 250 Class program in 2022. The two-time 250 MX champion has experienced serious issues in recent years, including a complicated burst fracture in his lower back/the dissolution of GEICO Honda/a return to Star Racing/assorted injuries, but has re-established himself as a front-runner in the competitive class.

“I’m really excited to be back with Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing for 2022,” said Martin in Yamaha’s press release. “I haven’t had the year I was hoping for, so I’m very grateful to do what I love and have another opportunity to race my butt off for some championships next year. The team and I have had a lot of success together over the years, and we look to build on that.”

Martin is currently ranked third overall in the 250 Class standings for the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. A hard crash at the Thunder Valley Motocross and hand injuries forced him to miss multiple rounds of the summer series, but he returned to action after a short recovery and claimed the overall wins at the Spring Creek Motocross and Washougal Motocross rounds.

Martin is in his second stint with Star Racing; he was with the team from 2012 to 2016 and returned in 2021 after the dissolution of GEICO Honda.

Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. is pleased to announce that Jeremy Martin will return with the Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing team for the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season. The two-time 250MX Champion returned to the team this season and has shown strength as a title contender and a lot of perseverance coming back from injuries. He is currently riding the wave of back-to-back overall victories in the 250 class and looks to keep building on his success with the team.

Seth Rarick – Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing 250 Team Manager
