It’s been 19 weeks since I crashed headfirst into a boulder in Salt Lake City and suffered a pretty serious neck injury, and this past week was a breakthrough of sorts for me as these were the first times I rode mountain bikes and motocross without really thinking about my neck or suffering from residual effects of the nerve damage in my left arm. In between motos on the track and hours in the saddle, we filmed a couple of new episodes of the SML Show, filmed edited a few high-traffic videos with Malcolm Stewart and Jeremy Martin, and wrapped up the AMSOIL Terra Firma Race Series. In my second race back I actually won my class and ran with some of the faster classes that were combined on my gate for a little while…I’ve got a long way to go to get where I was before my injury but I’ve come an even further way since those horrible sleepless nights where the pain in my neck and arm nearly drove me insane. Very thankful to do the things that I love most again, albeit at a lower level for now!
