During the final rounds of the 2019 Australian Supercross Championship, word trickled through the pit area that Luke Clout was interested in a return to the United States in 2020 through the Penrite Honda team. The Australian racer was a front-runner in the country’s motocross and Supercross championships this past year and finished second overall in the standings of both, which signified his return to full speed after a few rough seasons, and confirmed the deal shortly after the 2019 AUS-X Open Supercross.

The plan for Clout and the Penrite Honda team is for him to race the first six rounds of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series in the 250 West Coast region alongside Mitchell Oldenburg, then return to Australia for another run at the 450 MX and 450 SX titles.

During our time in Australia, we were able to catch Clout in his first day on the CRF250R and discussed the change, as well as his thoughts on coming up short in the SX1 championship.
