Knee braces are a hot topic in motocross circles, but every staffer and test rider on the SML team protects their knees with a set of knee braces. It’s hard to deny the side and twisting loads placed on your knees while riding a motocross bike, and we believe that a knee brace protects your joints from injury. Of course, no knee brace can prevent all injuries but if you could reduce the chances, why not? The CTi knee brace was invented by Jim Castillo in the early 1980s when he was recovering from a torn ACL he suffered while skiing, and in the years since the CTi design has been further developed and perfected. The CTi3 Knee Brace is an off-the-shelf brace that incorporates all of the great features found in the custom CTI2 knee brace that must be prescribed by a physician and is available in sizes small through extra large in single sides, or in a special motocross edition that’s sold as a pair that’s equipped with full-coverage knee cups and includes a pair of under socks.
