Team Honda HRC enters the 2024 Supercross/Pro Motocross/SuperMotocross Championship season with a four-racer effort and a proven platform in the CRF motorcycles.

Outdoor equipment and lifestyle brand TrueTimber has strengthened its relationship with Honda through a new sponsorship and licensing agreement and will produce the team’s work apparel.

Lars Lindstrom continues in the Team Manager role, with Toru Yukawa in place as HRC’s Technical Support, Shane Drew overseeing Chassis R&D, Gilbert Lujan running R&D for the 250 Engine, Robert Reichmann doing R&D for the 450 Engine, and longtime mechanics Grant Hutchenson and Jordan Troxell working as the 250 and 450 Crew Chiefs.

It’s been a few years since Honda made significant design changes to either CRF (2021 for the 450 and 2022 for the 250), and as the results from the past year show, the race team has figured out how to get the best from the engines, suspension, frame, and electronics. A major overhaul of the CRF450R is expected for 2025.

18. Jett Lawrence | Mechanic – Christien Ducharme

Lawrence will race in the 450 Class all year, as the highly decorated rider returns to defend the number one plate in Pro Motocross and SuperMotocross but will be a rookie in Supercross. There are no major changes for the number 18; he will run Alpinestars helmets-gear-boots with 100% goggles, with Johnny O’Mara assisting in training and Christien Ducharme prepping the motorcycle.

The Honda-Jettson relationship is set through at least 2025; the current contract started in 2021.

96. Hunter Lawrence | Mechanic – Cameron Camera

With the 250 East Coast SX and 250 MX number one plates from 2023 on the wall, Honda has promoted Lawrence to the 450 Class, a continuation of the two-year agreement signed in the summer of 2022 that runs to the end of 2024. He will continue to wear Alpinestars from head to toe, including goggles, and work with advisor Johnny O’Mara and mechanic Cameron Camera.

30. Jo Shimoda | Mechanic – Ben Griffith

Shimoda will be a red rider in the 250 Class for the next two years. He is the first Japanese native to sign a factory contract with American Honda and joins a celebrated list of competitors from the country that Honda has supported in all forms of motorsport. The racer has been paired with mechanic Ben Griffith, a career wrench who joined the team last year.

The move to Honda allowed Shimoda to pursue helmet/gear/goggle/energy drink sponsors, and he continued with longtime supporters Fox Racing, SCOTT Sports, and Monster Energy.

48. Chance Hymas | Mechanic – Tom Harris

Hymas is another promotion within the racing program, as he continues the three-year amateur-to-pro program outlined by Honda and moves to the 250 Class full-time in 2024 with mechanic Tommy Harris.

This is the final year of the teenager’s current contract with Honda, while his deal with gear-helmet brand FLY Racing goes through 2025, and endorsements with SCOTT Sports and Monster Energy follow similar timelines.
